Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Hello Stefan,

I've just tried to reproduce the crash without success.
Can you provide the expression, file names and steps to recreate it ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Hi Rémi.

Let me try it again after a restart of the pc or on another pc ;-)

For the scenario:
I just have launched Siren
and chosen  "Expression testbed" from the menu.
Then i only get this message as mentioned above.

Otherwise i could work with it on real files as fine as ever.

I use Siren_312_beta1_build_947_windows_(19.03.2013)

on Win 7 64-bit

siren.exe
8.437.760
30.04.2012 09:25
19.03.2013 18:30
3.1.2.0
3.10

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Hi,

Can you please check if this happens with version 3.11.
To be honest a very few code lines have been changed in this update and none of them should be involved in the "testbed" feature.

I'll try to reproduce it again on 7 64bit.
If you find the right "recipe" tell it me please.

PS: I made a small modification to your post.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

It works well with fresh unpacked
Siren_311_beta2_build_944_windows_(26.02.2013)\
Siren_312_beta1_build_947_windows_(19.03.2013)\

I see now it is the ini.

The same ini with 311 let crash it too.
A fresh ini -by deleting the ini first- let work 312 again.

I have nothing testbed related found in the ini but "rec_testbed=398 413 687 483"
Deleting this line did not help.

Let me know if you need my ini.
Wait, I did an test, see if you can access this

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Yes please send me the "ini" file.
So I can fix this bug too.

Thanks !

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Thanks for the file.
I can reproduce the crash under XP.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Based on your ".ini" file it seems that the visualisation window (image and tags) may not interest you. I perfectly understand.
I'll try to add an option to show/hide it.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Hello Stefan,

Have you tried to reproduce the crash bug with the 3.12 beta 2 ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Of course, sorry, I've forgotten to mention:

Siren_312_beta1_build_947_windows_(19.03.2013).zip >   still crash on opening "Expression testbed" wit my INI settings
Siren_312_beta2_build_954_windows_(08.04.2013).zip >   works fine on "Expression testbed" with very same INI. Good work!

.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Thanks again Stefan !

I would like you to check (if you've got time) another modification I made after looking at your "ini" : hide the visualisation window from the main View menu.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

> hide the visualization window from the main View menu.

build_954 on Win7 64-bit:

- I can hide or show it left or right.
- It remembers its size after hiding.
- The settings (hide and size) are remembered after an restart of Siren

Fine.

Re: Siren 3.12 beta 1 build 947

Thanks !
